John Connolly Jr. is indicted for aiding Boston gangsters.

A South Boston native, the retired FBI agent and former “handler” of FBI informants James “Whitey” Bulger and Stephen “The Rifleman” Flemmi, Connolly is convicted in federal court on charges of racketeering and obstruction of justice in May of 2002. He is also subsequently convicted of second degree murder in Miami for his role in the killing of John Callahan, a businessman turned FBI informant, by John Martorano, in Miami in July 1982.
